Neighborhood Spotlight Committee

The Spotlight Committee shall use various means of research, marketing, press and public venues to bring
greater awareness of the gang and crime problems to the Antelope Valley specifically municipal code violations and graffiti. This committee will also strive to involve residents in the Neighborhood Watch program.

This committee shall also utilize the Freedom of Information Act where appropriate.

This committee shall identify key problems facing the war on gangs and crime. Tools to use
include, but are not limited to:

  • Publications
  • Advertisements
  • Websites
  • Working with city, county, local school districts and businesses to educate residents of current municipal codes
  • Spotlighting problem neighborhoods

The Spotlight Committee shall work closely with the Meetings and Communications Committee as well as
the Performance Measurement Committee.

It is our conviction that Valley residents should stand firm and not allow gangs and crime to overtake our cities. In the words of Sir Winston Churchill, "Wars are not won by evacuations."
