Performance Measurement Committee

The Performance Measurement Committee shall determine what measurements are useful to meet
the mission of AVWOG&C and seek out the best sources for those measurements. Performance
measurements are valuable tools in determining what is, and is not, working to fight the gang and crime
problems in the Antelope Valley. Many times, the numbers and trends help ensure the proper focus is
placed where it needs to be and shall help guide AVWOG&C in allocating people, resources, and processes
where they are most effective.

Sources of performances measurements include, but are not limited to:

  • Local Law Enforcement
  • City
  • County
  • State
  • Federal Government
  • Groups started or chartered by any of the above
  • Other groups that have been determined to be reliable and without political agendas

When dealing with local, county, state and federal sources of performance measures that are not easily
accessible, the Freedom of Information Act can be used to request the appropriate information.

When measurements are not easily found, the Performance Measurement Committee can utilize surveys
and research to create the measurements needed. This committee shall use a disciplined, industrystandard
methodology in gathering measurements in order to be accurate and above reproach.
